I wanna be free

"Only if i could bunk school..I shall be free...... I have so much to do,fix my bicycle, steal mangoes from my neighbour's tree and then play with my friends", said Shyam, a 10 year old schoolboy on a bright summer morning.
"Only if i could bunk classes today.....i have not prepared for the mock test......i need to be free in order to prepare for my actual exams.....", said Rahul a 16 year old boy just before his board exams.
"Once the exams are i shall be free to take a long holiday with my friends.... ", said Riya on the last day of her board exams.

"When i am in college i shall have all the freedom to enjoy my life...." , said Taniya a 15 year old.
"When i shall be earning, i shall have the freedom to buy anything i want", said Rohan a college boy, unable to balance his pocket money with the spending.
"I wanna be free and independent, i dont need anyone telling me whats right and wrong ", said Madhu , an engineering student tired of being dictated by her parents in every sphere of life.

"I want my freedom, i want space in my life, i need to break away from this relationship...",said Manish an IT engineer, tired of the 3 year long relationship with his colleague Mahi who once used to fill up every moment of his life with happiness and content.
"I need to leave this job...my boss is a real tyke....i need my freedom back....am not a slave of my boss...",said Mitra, an service man in his thirties, tired of his boss's grumbling at his workplace.
"Am feeling claustrophobic in my office...as if  am being imprisoned behind the bars..... the monotony of my job is making me breathless....i cannot carry on like this....i need to break free from this situation...",said Jaya, a 35 year old consultant, tired of her high paid job at a foreign investment bank.

"I am tired of tending to the hackles of life everyday....my wife complains about everything, my son demands a new toy everyday, the bills are increasing and my boss keeps shouting...i need to be free from all......", said Vasu, a 40 year old executive in IT firm .

"My son is ignorant of my needs, my grandchild has no respect for me, i have become almost useless to my family and  the society, i want to be free from all the bonds of life....my journey is nearing the end....i shall be free now..", said Manav a 75 year old staying with his son ,daughter in law  and two grandchildren.

How many times in our lives to we demand freedom? What do we want to a free ourselves from- the books of Shyam, mock exams of Rahul, bonds of love for Manish, monotony of Jaya's work, tyranny of Mitra's boss,  family ties of Vasu or the journey of life for Manav? What do we mean by freedom, freedom from what?

A hunt for Chocolate in Mars.... part 2

Krrring Krrrring..... The phone kept on ringing but no one answered. Polo tried to call Sandy at his office, but they said, he had not been to office since yesterday. "Where has he vanished", thought a bewildered Polo. His last words kept lingering in her mind,"....it was Unearthly". The day passed by and still Sandy was missing. Polo was now getting scared , she sensed something must be terribly wrong with Sandy.

Far away, in Paris , something odd looking men were unloading a truck. Looking at them one would say they were wearing makeup, such was the colour and texture of their skin, smooth chocolaty.Among the many crates they were unloading , there was a big crate with the tag, "Handle with care". A scuffling sound was coming inside the crate, as if there was someone trapped inside the crate. A big guy came along to check the crates. His subordinates were addressing him as "The Munch". "The Munch" then ordered the odd looking guys to mount the crates in the ship along with the big one. At midnight, the crates were loaded in the slanting elevator on the east leg of Eiffel Tower. On the top level of the Eiffel tower, suddenly a huge flat disk shaped object had arrived. The color of the object was exactly like the night sky. The thousands of tourists out there looking at the gorgeously illuminated Eiffel tower will never realise the presence of the hovering disk on top of the tower. Slowly and steadily the men started loading the crates from the elevator to the ship from the top of the Eiffel tower.

The constant jerking woke up Sandy. He felt claustrophobic inside the small damp crate. He could feel moving up against the gravity . Sandy was confused, the cranking noise surely came from an elevator kind of a thing but where was he? He remembered listening to Aswini, the Martian Pop singer, suddenly a bell rang, he opened the door and saw some funny looking people , then everything went blank.

Sandy had a feeling he had stumbled upon something which he was not supposed to know. Everything started with the mud cake. He had loved it and had gone back to fetch some more. But when he reached the shop, the shop was open but no one was there, the shop owner Mr. DivineDisco had vanished. What was strange that he had left the shop open. And all the mud cake was also gone. And then there was some kind of a hastily written note on the floor which said...."mars will come to us". All this was pretty confusing but Sandy had thought that currently with the Martians negotiating with the Earth people and all the craze about the Martian Pop queen, maybe Mr. DivineDisco was another Mars frenzy follower who wanted to settle there. Sandy had returned home and then all the mishap started.

Inside the crate Sandy was confused and trying to solve the jigsaw when suddenly the elevator came to a hault. He felt the crate being pulled up and was thrown in a corner. It hurt him, he was cramped inside the crate, felt sick and was terribly hungry. He had no idea for how long he was trapped there. He waited and waited, then finally fell asleep. Suddenly a huge jerk woke him up. He felt his heart plunging down in his guts and felt an incredible pressure. He felt nauseating and felt bile come up in his throat. Suddenly he had the feeling of being pulled in a whirlwind and within moments calm had returned.

The entire process was so tiring he felt asleep again only to be woken up by a thud. He could hear voices and after some wait his crate was pulled up and opened. He found himself in broad daylight in a place where everything was the colour of chocolate. He looked up and found himself staring at the earth in the sky. Suddenly Sandy realised and was overwhelmed by the fact.....

He had landed in the Chocolate city of Mars.

The silent moon

The moon is shining tonight, yet there's no melody in the air. The moon is sparkling on the lake water, yet i am not moved a bit. The zephyr blows my hair away but i am not thrilled. My heart wants to whisper tender words but theres no one around. The couple romances in the moonlight, the city looks lovely bathed in the silver light. All souls are touched by the beaming moon yet you go on to say moon is not perfect. You love the moon, you hate the moon, the moon is silent. So am i , silent from the world, silent from the moon. My soul wants to whisper but its scared to speak. My soul remains silent like the moon beaming at all from a lonely corner of the sky. Like the moon, I make my journey alone in darkness .....

A hunt for Chocolate in Mars

One fine morning Polo got up from bed and found three mars bars beside her bed. She tasted the chocolate ...It was different not like the chocolate she eats on earth. Something was definitely different. It had an Unearthly taste, very muddy chocolaty.... The other day Sandy was describing a chocolate cake named Mud slice which seemed to be dipped in chocolate mud literally..... he said it was Unearthly....as if one really dipped it in chocolate mud on the way to.....

Well these mars bars reminded polo of the chocolate mud....can there really be a place in our galaxy which had chocolate mud???
Immediately she called up Amitava, the secret admirer of the Martian beauty queen Ashwini... in order to get daily tweets of Ashwini maintains a good rapport with the Martian helpdesk named the Chandrabindu stationed in our Moon ... The Chandrabindu has informed Amitava there are no CATs in mars.... Can there be a Chocolate city in Mars like the one in the old story of Charlie and the chocolate factory.....Maybe Amitava can manage to get some info from Chandrabindu
Polo quickly thought of whom she should contact...Shankha the gr8 developer could easily deport them to Mars Network using threads.....Sujoy can lead the team safely to mars and back to earth.....
They needed some funds..... A good Mascot would lure the productions houses to finance the hunt....No one but our size zero Sandy could be the Chocolate Hunt Mascot.....well he was training under Polo and had developed good chocolate testing skills...both could be the key Hunters in this mission.... Polo decided to call Sandy and decide on the other members of the hunt.....
She called Sandy.....His phone rang Krrring Krrrring...........

Amidst a static whirlpool

Have you ever felt being pulled into a whirlpool? There's so much of tension and apprehension at the thought of being swept into a whirlpool but what happens when you are inside it....
Blank, dark, numbness ......there's no feelings, no pain ,no happiness, no anxiety, all you feel is numbness......the feeling of vacuum.....

So much of apprehension for a year, waiting for the final countdown and now when it has begun why am letting it go....am i even doing that....am numb, cant feel a thing......waiting to be sucked into vacuum rather have already been sucked into vacuum......can i save myself?? From what shall i protect myself? Even the enemy is unknown , if one exist...such is the world....such is my life or rather my days.......

Sunshine on my shoulders......

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy
Sunshine in my eyes can make me cry
Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
Sunshine almost always makes me high

If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today
If I had a song that I could sing for you
I'd sing a song to make you feel this way

If I had a tale that I could tell you
I'd tell a tale sure to make you smile
If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine all the while

The warm sunshine balming our shoulders, the glistening water of our jheel, the birds' chirping on the trees, the careless laughter of a bunch of friends ...the ingredients of our youth, the last straw of innocence , the end of careless life and laughter.....
Nothing but the song expresses my feelings for this moment, a moment captured in a digital frame rather a moment that captured us all in a trance of joyous youth.....
